ARRA Reimbursements Guaranteed: Physician’s Solution 5.0 Among First to Receive Complete EHR ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification

For Immediate Release

“We at UniEHR are proud to have been among the first companies to have an EMR product fully certified as a Complete EHR under the ONC-ATCB (ARRA) meaningful use standards and already deployed in the marketplace; many of our competitors don’t even have a roll-out schedule for their ARRA-certified systems.”

Great Neck, NY, October 8, 2010 —Universal EMR Solutions LLC announced today that its Physician’s Solution 5.0® is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on October 8, 2010 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). ARRA, also commonly referred to as the Stimulus Act, earmarked over $40 billion to increase the use of Electronic Health Records by physicians and hospitals.

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria approved by HHS for eligible provider technology. According to Mitchell C. Shapiro, President and Chairman of Universal EMR Solutions, ―We are proud that our Physician’s Solution 5.0 is one of the few certified EHRs that meet the criteria supporting all meaningful use measures under ARRA, including optional quality measure requirements. While vendors were required to demonstrate reporting functionality in only 9 clinical quality measures, Universal EMR’s Physician Solution was certified in all 44 quality measures for 2011.

―We believe that being among the first companies to achieve ONC-ATCB certification is evidence that Universal EMR Solutions has stood firmly behind our early customer guarantees that our products would meet the highest industry standards and that our clients would be eligible for federal incentives, Mr. Shapiro said. Aaron Wachspress, Universal EMR Founder and Chief Technology Officer, explained that ―’Meaningful use’ has been an industry buzzword for some time, but the final ruling defining the criteria for the EHR Incentive program was first released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) on July 13, 2010. When CCHIT launched its ONC-ATCB certification program on September 20th, UniEMR was ready to sign up for one of the earliest testing slots. Our commitment to achieve or surpass the highest industry standards for our customers drove us to become certified under the first rigorous set of CCHIT Ambulatory EHR criteria in 2006 and then under the complete 2011 CCHIT Ambulatory EHR criteria in June 2010, and now has driven us to gain early certification under the 2011/2012 ONC criteria and standards.

―For Universal EMR, putting customers first has always meant providing them with a highly cost-effective healthcare IT solution, said Wachspress. ―As an intuitive, browser-based, easy-to-use EMR system, Physician’s Solution eliminates the highest real cost of implementation – the slowdowns and downtime during EMR training and implementation. Clearly, enabling physicians to qualify for ARRA reimbursement significantly boosts the value of licensing our EMR system. Added Mr. Shapiro, ―Clients can now bank on the unprecedented money-back guarantee that Physician’s Solution will qualify them for their maximum available ARRA reimbursements. Our company will continue its unparalleled level of customer satisfaction and strive to maintain its record of 100% client retention.

The additional software that Physician’s Solution 5.0 relied upon to demonstrate compliance includes Healthline.com and medrecordsalert.com. The Physician’s Solution 5.0 certification number is CC-1112-681600-1. 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
